Roots: "Ik ben Science" has resumed for sessions for the families in Beijum! Roots, for short, is an interdisciplinary programme that incorporates activities under the S.T.E.A.M. umbrella. The acronym, S.T.E.A.M., stands for: Science, Technology, Engineering/Environment, Arts, and Mathematics Following these themes, out Roots' families were engaged in arts- and nature-based activities for the past week. Only three weeks in and already we are setting the stage for a science-filled experience! From our play-dough inspired Squishy Circuits to learning all about Bees and Beekeeping, Making Foldscopes, and Scavenging for Edible Plants, our families are geared up for another season of fun and science! We worked with the Scouts at the Beijum location last Saturday, September 26,2020. The children were excited and not afraid to go outdoors and get dirty! Of course, we could not make this happen without our collaborators and sponsors: our very own Science LinX and the Sustainable Society, University of Groningen!
